This course supplements and develops the compositional part of the GCSE Music exam
Introduction to the course
GCSE Music Composition Course: This two-day course is designed as a ‘top-up’ to help those GCSE students who need some extra guidance with the composition component of their GCSE exam.
Course tutors
The course will be run by Catherine and Caroline Evans - both very experienced instrumental teachers.
Caroline Evans BA (Hons) is a pianist
who has been teaching in Lewes for eighteen years. She prepares students from Grades 5-8 and coaches for scholarships, auditions and GCSE music performance. Caroline devised and runs Aural Soundbites, a course for the listening component of instrumental exams. She is joint editor of the sight-reading series Right@Sight and is author of the aural notes for the Grade 8 Piano Anthology, both published by Peters Edition. Caroline has since written and published the Aural Test Survival Guide in eight beautifully produced, modern and colourful volumes.
In October 2007 she was invited to the Music Industries Association awards ceremony at the Savoy in London where she received the Retailers Award for Distinction in printed music publishing. You can see more about this at EditionPeters.com
